Fall break is just around the corner, as evidenced by the 50 degree mornings, midterm exams, and, of course, fall break on the academic calendar.

All of us have different plans for break: some students are going home for the long weekend, some are staying here and others are taking trips elsewhere. Personally, I’m cramming myself, my laundry and my school bag into my barely big enough truck and driving back to good ole York, Pa.

Both before and after break there are a lot of exciting events happening on campus! First, this Friday, Oct. 7 there is a fall festival sponsored by athletics. There will be a dunk tank, free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and other food and beverages, as well as giveaways. The festival is running from 4 to 6 p.m. as a ramp up to the women’s volleyball game at 7 p.m. Come out and support the Phoenix for both of these events!

After fall break, is Family Weekend, Oct. 21-23,  and the opening of the Wilson College Cafe! Personally, as a campus store employee, I’m very excited for the cafe to open, and I hope all of you are excited to check it out as well. I enjoy seeing how our campus is expanding and changing and I’m sure the future will hold great things for Wilson.

Great post, Ian. How exciting to hear about all of the activities — from a student’s POV! My husband Dick and I will be at the game tomorrow evening. I’m eager to meet your co-blogger, Grace, so I’ll be looking for the #13 jersey!

Would love to meet you as well…but how will I know you?

Thank you for commenting Mrs. Young! I’ll be sitting at the scorer’s table during the game, afterward I’ll meet up with Grace so you can find both of us!

      Looking forward to meet you,
      Ian Firestone
