Second Semester

Where do I even start?! This semester is already flying by and so much has happened since the fall.

I love my classes this semester and am still working a lot with volleyball. The women’s team helps out with the men’s games, and we attend their games–watching them play is exciting.

And since women’s volleyball is out of season at the moment, I get to focus more on art. In the wake of some administrative changes put in place by President Trump, the National Park Service has created an alternate park service which many parks and rangers have joined. They are looking for a new logo and I have been working on a design to submit, a project lets me combine my love for both art and the environment! I’m so excited to finish it and see what they say.

Recently, I traveled to Bethany Beach, Del., and enjoyed a few communes with nature while there.  It’s probably the most peaceful place for me to go to. My grandparents used to live there and I’m very familiar with the area. And, for February, it was outrageously warm and almost the perfect beach weather: sunny and 65 degrees with a breeze. It was a lovely weekend with my mom and dad.

We stayed in the cutest little cottages in the Delaware Seashore State Park with the Indian River Bay just several hundred feet away. We had the most beautiful sunsets and, according to my dad, sunrises (although I never woke up early enough to see those).

I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend to help me destress. We’re just about to the middle of semester and everything is getting crazy with tests, projects and readings. I hope you all find peace in this weirdly warm weather and crazy time.
